The Art of Resume Writing

  • Resume writing is an art

  • Resume writing is no longer about your degrees and qualifications; the resume should project the real you on paper in your absence.

  • Remember that your resume is a ticket to a new job. It can make or break your career.

  • Tailor your resume to suit the nature of the job you are looking for.

  • Avoid unnecessary details about your other qualifications that are not relevant/required for the job.

  • Give crisp information about the type of job you are seeking and your job experience.

Basic rules of resume writing

  • Brief and informative

  • Condense it into a one-page résumé

  • If a resume stretches to 2 or 3 pages, your experiences and achievements would get ignored

  • A one page resume is the best for face to face interview

  • Maintain uniformity in the use of capital letters, italics, bullets and underline.

  • Focus on all your strengths with the correct usage of grammar and syntax of language.

  • Do not miss out on a good job opportunity by confusing your prospective employer. Before writing your resume, be sure about the career path you wish to follow and design it accordingly.

  • Focus on your job history in your resume. Do not provide a historical account of your past

  • Write your resume with real enthusiasm. Your resume reflects your state of mind to the employer.

  • Incorporate something new in your resume to make it stand out in a pile of resume

  • A well-written resume attracts the employer’s attention
